Dear Friends and Family,
Here we are to stay. If you have been keeping tabs on us for a while, you are aware that our record for staying in one place (since Arlee & Patrick's wedding in '93) is four years. True to form, we have moved from Ashland after three. This time, though, we have stayed in the same state. And we are making a commitment to stay for a good while.
Patrick has taken a position as principal of Reedsport Jr/Sr High school, a grade 7-12 Oregon public school of just over 400 students. He is enjoying the new challenges, and by the accounts of the community is doing a great job.
Reedsport is a small town on the Oregon coast, west of Eugene. It is a great place for the family, and we have been welcomed and become involved in the community. Arlee is enoying being a stay-at-home mom, volunteering in the schools, and dreaming still of getting enough free time to finish her novel. Jeshua enjoys his fourth grade class, plays soccer and swims competitively. Elijah will be three in February. He recently got out the hair clippers from a high closet, plugged them in, put on the number two guard and gave himself half of a haircut (which mom then finished up), and announced, "I'm combing my hair." That should give you a flavor of what he is like: sharp, charming, cute, and...trouble.
We were fortunate to find a wonderful and very comfortable house...there is a guest room, and we look forward to visitors. We would love to see you and love to hear from you even though we seem to do a poor job of keeping in touch. Please do call, write, e-mail, and come see us!
