Dear Friends and Family,
It's called "holiday" here in Saudi Arabia, if anything at all; "Christmas" is kind of a naughty word. As in "holiday tree," "holiday lights," etc.
Whatever you call it, Peace, Love and Joy to you this season!
For those with whom our contact is less than regular--we have since August been living in Dhahran, in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Right on the Gulf. Since November the weather has been very pleasant; before that it was blast-furnace hot. The tap water remains a little salty, but has added "cool" to it's repertoire of "hot" and "really hot." The picture above is Jeshua on the shore of the Arabian Gulf.
Arlee is teaching Drama as well as 10th Grade English; she LOVES the drama classes, and has just directed a successful production of "The Miracle Worker." She plans Shakespeare for the spring.
Patrick's concert is on December 14 and promises to be wonderful.
We may go to Sri Lanka or Dubai over the break, otherwise we will just be staying here; it won't be a white Christmas for us unless you count glare from the sand.
