Jerash
Jerash is an amazingly large, beautifully photogenic, incredibly preserved ancient Roman city. It was known as Gerasa in ancient times, in the biblical land of Gilead. We were not prepared for the gradeur and splendor. We took lots of pictures. It may have been the highlight of our entire trip. There were theaters, columns galore, spring wildflowers in bloom, mosaics...wow. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves:
