BAND PROGRAM:
Circus Days is just plain fun! It is zippy and can really show off the groups ability to play with dramatic dynamic shifts.
Anitchka is a Gypsy dance that is based around a story of a prince who sees a common girl in the market place and falls immediately in love with her. His advances are rejected on numerous occasions but he is persistent and finally she relents and they live happily ever after.
Mystery on Mena Mountain is the telling of an old Ozark tail of two children who climb a mountain to play with the angles that gather up there.
Night Dances has no story but is a wonderful collection of exotic sounds and the writing is done to feature the beauty sections playing in dark minor sonorities.
